- Central government legislative reform proposals, and opportunities for CMF submissions, including resource management reform (planning and natural environment bills), emergency management bill, simplifying local government proposal, and the rates target model proposal
- Mayoral Forum’s Plan for Canterbury – a refresh for the 2025–2028 triennium, with a strong focus on regional spatial planning and local government re-organisation
- Regional spatial planning – seeking details for the establishment of a governance and a working group for this workstream, statutory timeframes, engagement with Mana Whenua, and project and funding approaches
- Canterbury Water Management Strategy – noting an update on the region-wide work underway to implement the Canterbury Water Management Strategy, including progress on establishment of local leadership groups, and the work that CWMS partners have been progressing in the nitrate/drinking water space
- Canterbury Climate Partnership Plan – noting the quarterly implementation progress report.
- A progress update on the development of a scope of works for a future regional deal proposal, including draft terms of reference for a governance and working groups
- Progress on the Canterbury Energy workstream
- An update from the Regional Public Service Commissioner on current priorities, and plans for the Public Service Commissioner to attend the February 2026 Mayoral Forum meeting
- Regional forums update – an update on recent activity at the various regional forums, and the 2025/26 regional forums budget.
