Key agenda items
- Canterbury Mayoral Forum’s draft Plan for Canterbury 2026-28, noting the refreshed plan needs to reflect the significant changes in the operating environment including recent central government legislative reform announcements, and the role of the Plan as the strategic document linking key workstreams and priorities
- Canterbury Climate Partnership Plan update, noting the three-year work programme is on track, and recent work including consideration of a Risk Visualisation tool, progress on the Emissions Reduction workstream, alignment with the recently released National Adaptation Framework, and a review of the It’s Time Canterbury” regional platform for climate discussion
- An update on options for a future regional spatial plan, noting the early stage of the process and the need for the options paper to be updated to align with the recently released Planning and Natural Environment Bills
